The Equilune Calendar
Two Ideas, One Calendar.
The Equilune Calendar explores two connected ideas:
1: A simpler calendar.
A perpetual calendar with 30-day months
The same date always falls on the same weekday.
Every month has 30 days.
At the end of each month and year,
we add "Weekless Days".
If Saturdays, Sundays, and Weekless Days are days off,
there are 125 days off each year (126 in leap years).
Regular time off. Predictable schedules.
2: A new way to organize holidays.
Turning holidays into themed weeks
There are countless commemorative days, and more will come.
To give these occasions deeper meaning,
what if we stopped treating commemorative days as automatic days off?
Without reducing the number of days off.
12 months. 12 themed weeks.
Even as new commemorative days are added,
there’s room for them.
Together, they invite us to reconsider something
we have inherited for generations:
Does the way we organize time still serve
the way we live?
This is our answer:
The Equilune Calendar
Addressing the shifting of dates
and the purpose of holidays—together.
A proposal to rethink
how we spend our time
and how we pass on our cultures.
